ABOUT ME

LaRita "Jazzy Rita" Shelby is a multi-media entrepreneur whose credits include The Tom Joyner Morning Show, Radioscope and the Armed Forces Radio Network.  She has appeared on TV and in films, and she starred in the urban classic "South Central."  As a writer her work has been performed in New York, Tennessee, Florida and St. Croix.  Shelby is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and she holds a Masters In Media & Communications Psychology from Touro University.  LaRita received The Community Service Award in 2016 from The Black Hollywood Education & Resource Center. She was bestowed an Unsung Heroes of LA Award in 2015 from Hands for Hope, and she has been honored twice by The Armed Forces Network's Defense Imagery Management Operations Center at March Air Force Base.  She is the mother of one son, Justin.  They reside in Studio City, CA.   Currently LaRita is completing two new screenplays, a stage play and a much anticipated jazz album, a follow up to her debut CD "A Date With A Song."
